This recorded edWebinar focuses on the strengths of children and how school staff can nurture a path to thriving for all. Melissa McClain, Community Education Program Coordinator for Akron Children’s Hospital, discusses the 40 Developmental Assets from Search Institute that provide a framework for identifying a child’s unique resiliency strengths, as well as gaps, to best support their overall needs. This framework provides social and emotional strategies to build children’s confidence in their ability to handle everyday adversity. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of how to recognize a child’s spark and use developmental relationships to build resilience in children with autism.
This recorded edWebinar will be of interest to preK-12 teachers, school and district leaders, special education staff, support staff, counselors, interventionists, therapists, and aides.
